To advance to the championship game, Liu won 8-4 over Jie Mei (Beijing, CHN) in the semifinals of the 2018 Boundary Ford Curling Classic in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada; and won 5-4 over Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Boundary Ford Curling Classic in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada;
Liu finished 4-2 in the 23-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Liu lost 8-4 to Min Ji Kim (chuncheon city, KOR), then responded with a 10-3 win over 's Karynn Flory. Liu went on to lose 8-7 against Kayla Skrlik (Calgary, AB). Liu responded with a 7-1 win over Marla Sherrer (Lacombe, AB). Liu won 9-3 against 's Irene Schori, then won 8-4 against Selena Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Boundary Ford Curling Classic, Liu take home 25.749 world rankings points along with the $4,500CDN prize. Liu move up 9 spots after posting a net gain of 23.755 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 39th overall with 112.416 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
