To advance to the championship game, Jacobs won 5-3 over Glenn Howard (Penetanguishe, ON) in the semifinals of the 2018 AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-3 over Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON) in the quarterfinals.
 
Jacobs finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated Sebastian Wunderer (Kitzbuehel, AUT) 5-1, then won 9-2 against Qiang Zou (Beijing, CHN) and 8-4 against Charley Thomas (Toronto, ON). Jacobs won 8-4 against Martin Ferland (Trois-Rivieres, QC), then won 7-2 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic, Jacobs take home 47.781 world rankings points along with the $10,500CDN prize, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 7th place overall with 336.815 total points.
