Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON) qualified for the 2018 AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-3 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT).
 
McDonald finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McDonald defeated Martin Crete (St-Romuald, QC) 8-6, then won 6-4 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB). McDonald went on to lose 6-5 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI). McDonald responded with a 9-1 win over Mingjie Yuan (Beijing, CHN). McDonald went on to lose 8-4 against Steve Allen (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
McDonald earned 26.063 world rankings points for their Top 7 finish in the AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic, remaining in 21st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 9.251 after improving upon their best so far this season. McDonald ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 46.806 points earned so far this season.
