In their opening game, Brown lost 8-3 to Heath McCormick (Blaine, USA), then responded with a 8-4 win over Todd Birr (Blaine, MN). Brown went on to lose 6-5 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Brown lost 6-5 to Brady Clark (Seattle, WA). Brown lost 8-6 to McCormick. Brown lost 5-3 to Birr where Brown responded with a 7-6 win over Clark. Brown won 5-4 against Shuster in their final qualifying round match.

Brown earned 4.669 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 29th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 190.397 total points. Brown ranks 47th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 50.849 points earned so far this season.
