Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) won 4-3 over Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR) in the Final of the Biosteel Oakville Fall Classic, held September 8 - 10, 2017 at the Oakville Curling Club in Oakville, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Mouat won 8-7 over Switzerland's Yannick Schwaller in the semifinals of the 2017 Biosteel Oakville Fall Classic in Oakville, Ontario, Canada; and won 6-5 over Northern Ontario's Tanner Horgan in the quarterfinals.
Mouat finished 4-0 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) 5-4, then won 5-2 against Alexander Baumann (Baden-Baden, GER) and 6-4 against Codey Maus (London, ON). Mouat won 8-2 against Ontario's Ian Dickie in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Biosteel Oakville Fall Classic Championship title, Mouat earned 35.463 world rankings points along with the $3,400CDN first prize cheque. For week 5 of the event schedule, Mouat did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mouat ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
