Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) finished 1-3 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brewster lost 4-2 to Patric Mabergs (Skelleftea, SWE), droppimg another game, 5-3 to Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR). Brewster lost 8-6 to Ontario's John Steski where Brewster responded with a 5-4 win over De Jia Zou (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

Brewster earned 0.760 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 5 of the event schedule, Brewster did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Brewster ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
