Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) won 6-4 over United States's Nina Roth in the Final of the Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic, held October 6 - 9, 2017 at the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Homan won 6-4 over Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2017 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and won 9-6 over Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic in Calgary, Alberta, Canada;
Homan finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Kayla Skrlik (Calgary, AB) 3-2, then won 7-5 against Diane Gushulak (New Westminister, BC). Homan went on to lose 6-3 against Carey. Homan responded with a 9-0 win over Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER). Homan won 6-2 against United States's Cory Christensen, then won 5-3 against Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic Championship title, Homan earned 68.615 world rankings points along with the $13,500CDN first prize cheque. For week 9 of the event schedule, Homan did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Homan ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
