Dacey finished 3-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dacey defeated Adam Boland (St. John's, NL) 8-3, then won 6-4 against Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS). Dacey went on to lose 9-3 against Murphy. Dacey responded with a 6-5 win over Scott Jones (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
