Sean Geall (Kelowna, BC) lost 5-3 to Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) in the Final of the Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel, held November 24 - 26, 2017 at the Abbotsford Curling Club in Abbotsford, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Geall won 6-0 over Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC) in the semifinals of the 2017 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and won 5-1 over Chris Baier (Victoria, BC) in the quarterfinals.

Geall finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Geall defeated Glen Jackson (Victoria, BC) 8-2, then won 6-3 against Kelly McQuiggan (Richmond, BC) and 8-1 against Korea's SooHyuk Kim in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel, Geall take home 15.515 world rankings points along with the $3,500CDN prize, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 73rd place overall with 75.132 total points.
