To advance to the championship game, Sweden's Anna Hasselborg won 8-4 over Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN) in the semifinals of the 2017 HDF Insurance Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta; and won 6-0 over Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals.
Sweden's Anna Hasselborg finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sweden's Anna Hasselborg lost 6-4 to Brett Barber (Biggar, SK), then responded with a 5-1 win over Manitoba's Rhonda Varnes. Sweden's Anna Hasselborg won 6-3 against Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB), then won 7-4 against Barb Spencer (winnnipeg, MB) and 8-6 against EunJung Kim (Uiseong, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the HDF Insurance Shoot-Out, Sweden's Anna Hasselborg take home 43.640 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN prize. For week 6 of the event schedule, Sweden's Anna Hasselborg did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
