Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) lost 6-2 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Players' Championship, held April 10 - 15, 2018 in Toronto, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Edin won 6-5 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2018 Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario; and won 6-3 over Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario;
 
Edin finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB) 6-4, then won 9-6 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Edin went on to lose 7-5 against Smith. Edin responded with a 6-3 win over Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO). Edin won 5-4 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Players' Championship, Edin take home 60.878 world rankings points along with the $24,000CDN prize.
