Laycock went on to lose 9-5 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB). Laycock responded with a 8-6 win over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON). Laycock went on to lose 10-4 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Laycock lost 8-5 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Laycock lost 7-6 to John Morris (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Laycock earned 8.901 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 13th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 358.393 total points. Laycock ranks 39th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 78.143 points earned so far this season.
