McEwen went on to lose 6-5 against Koe. McEwen responded with a 10-4 win over Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). McEwen went on to lose 8-3 against Gushue. McEwen lost 6-3 to Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) where McEwen responded with a 6-4 win over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, McEwen take home 69.935 world rankings points, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 5th place overall with 637.835 total points. McEwen ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 297.137 points earned so far this season.
