Gushue won 8-3 against McEwen, then won 8-5 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) and 6-3 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Gushue earned 54.041 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 1st place overall with 877.981 total points. Gushue ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 357.449 points earned so far this season.
