Smith won 6-1 against Chay Telfer (Glasgow, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Dumfries Challenger Series Championship title, Smith earned 16.164 world rankings points along with the $4,997CDN first prize cheque. Smith move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 14.34 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 13th overall with 373.573 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
