Jean-Michel Menard (Gatineau, QC) won 6-1 over James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) in the Final of the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic, held December 2 - 4, 2016 at the Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club in Saint John, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Menard won 5-4 over Mike Kennedy (Moncton, NB) in the semifinals of the 2016 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and won 8-3 over Wayne Tallon (Fredericton, NB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Menard finished 5-0 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Menard defeated Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS) 5-4, then won 4-2 against Glen MacLeod (Halifax, NS) and 9-5 against Paul Dobson (Saint John, NB). Menard won 8-5 against Jason Roach (Saint John, NB), then won 7-1 against Dave Sullivan (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic Championship title, Menard earned 17.861 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 26th place overall with 202.873 total points. Menard ranks 41st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 67.507 points earned so far this season.
