To advance to the championship game, Morozumi won 6-4 over Stephen Schneider (Vancouver/Vernon, BC) in the semifinals of the 2016 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Morozumi finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Adam Cseke (Kelowna, BC) 5-3, then won 6-5 against Schneider. Morozumi went on to lose 5-4 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC). Morozumi lost 9-4 to Schneider where Morozumi responded with a 4-3 win over Sean Geall (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, Morozumi take home 0.000 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN prize. For week 7 of the event schedule, Morozumi did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 24th to 25th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 146.043 total points.
