To advance to the championship game, Ulsrud won 6-5 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2016 Baden Masters in Baden-Daettwil, Switzerland; and won 7-4 over Kyle Smith (Stirling, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Baden Masters in Baden-Daettwil, Switzerland;
 
Ulsrud finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ulsrud defeated Lucien Lottenbach (Luzern, SUI) 8-3, then won 7-3 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) and 5-2 against Yves Hess (Zurich, SUI). Ulsrud won 6-5 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
