Sarah Daniels (New Westminster, BC) lost 9-5 to Mary Fay (Chester, NS) in the Final of the Canadian Junior Women's Championship presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario, held January 23 - 31, 2016 in Stratford, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Daniels won 7-3 over Justine Comeau (Fredericton, NB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Canadian Junior Women's Championship presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario in Stratford, Ontario;
Daniels finished 8-2 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Daniels defeated Kourtney Fesser (Saskatoon, SK) 7-2, then won 16-3 against Alyssa Meger (Whitehorse, YK) and 7-6 against Katie Fullerton (Cornwall, PEI). Daniels won 13-3 against Brooke Godsland (St. John's, NL), then won 7-4 against Fay and 8-4 against Courtney Auld (Toronto, ON). Daniels won 8-7 against Selena Sturmay (Airdrie, AB). Daniels went on to lose 6-4 against Laurie St-Georges (Laval, QC). Daniels responded with a 8-5 win over Abby Ackland (Winnipeg, MB). Daniels went on to lose 5-2 against Comeau in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Canadian Junior Women's Championship presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario, Daniels take home 13.436 world rankings points. For week of the event schedule, Daniels did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Daniels ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
