Korey Dropkin (Blaine, USA) lost 6-3 to Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) in the Final of the World Junior Curling Championships, held March 5 - 13, 2016 in Taarnby, Denmark.
Dropkin finished 8-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dropkin lost 8-2 to Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, CAN), then responded with a 7-6 win over Mouat. Dropkin won 9-2 against Tobias Thune (Dumfries, DEN), then won 9-4 against Korea's Ki Jeong Lee and 9-6 against Bendik Ramsfjell (Oslo, NOR). Dropkin won 5-3 against Alexander Eremin (Moscow, RUS), then won 6-5 against Rasmus Wrana (Harnosand, SWE) and 7-4 against Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR). Dropkin won 9-3 against Yannick Schwaller (Berne, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the World Junior Curling Championships, Dropkin take home 18.340 world rankings points. For week of the event schedule, Dropkin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Dropkin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
