Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) won 6-3 over Korey Dropkin (Blaine, USA) in the Final of the World Junior Curling Championships, held March 5 - 13, 2016 in Taarnby, Denmark.
Mouat finished 7-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Bendik Ramsfjell (Oslo, NOR) 7-4, then went on to lose 7-6 against Dropkin. Mouat responded with a 10-7 win over Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, CAN). Mouat won 13-4 against Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR), then won 9-2 against Rasmus Wrana (Harnosand, SWE) and 10-3 against Korea's Ki Jeong Lee. Mouat won 10-2 against Alexander Eremin (Moscow, RUS). Mouat went on to lose 10-4 against Yannick Schwaller (Berne, SUI). Mouat responded with a 8-2 win over Tobias Thune (Dumfries, DEN) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the World Junior Curling Championships Championship title, Mouat earned 23.342 world rankings points. For week of the event schedule, Mouat did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mouat ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
