To advance to the championship game, Peterson/Polo won 7-6 over Kalynn Virtue/Charley Thomas (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2016 Pacific Northwest Mixed Doubles Invitational in Seattle, Washington; and won 7-0 over Alexandra Carlson/Derrick McLean (St. Paul, MN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Pacific Northwest Mixed Doubles Invitational in Seattle, Washington;
Peterson/Polo finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Peterson/Polo defeated Cristin Clark/Brady Clark (Seattle, WA) 10-3, then went on to lose 8-6 against Lisa Menard/Ray Baker (Dauphin, MB). Peterson/Polo responded with a 10-3 win over Taylor Anderson/Thomas Howell (Blaine, MN). Peterson/Polo won 8-7 against Dezaray Hawes/Tyler Tardi (New Westminster, BC), then won 10-1 against Anne Shibuya/Marcio Cerquinho (Belo Horizonte, BRZ) in their final qualifying round match.
. For week 12 of the event schedule, Peterson/Polo did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Peterson/Polo ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
