McEwen lost 5-4 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) where McEwen responded with a 6-3 win over John Shuster (Duluth, USA). McEwen went on to lose 6-3 against John Epping (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
McEwen earned 46.838 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Players' Championship, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -993.594 after improving upon their best so far this season. McEwen ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 442.274 points earned so far this season.
