Flemming finished 5-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Flemming lost 7-6 to MacDougall, then responded with a 6-3 win over Kevin Saccary (Halifax, NS). Flemming went on to lose 7-3 against Jialiang Zang (Harbin, CHN). Flemming responded with a 5-0 win over Mark Dacey (Halifax, NS). Flemming won 7-4 against Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS), then won 9-2 against Doug MacKenzie (Halifax, NS) and 8-4 against Andy McCann (Fredericton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Dave Jones Molson Mayflower Cashspiel Championship title, Flemming earned 7.150 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 93 spots the World Ranking Standings into 112th place overall with 9.335 total points.
