Kim won 8-3 against Suji Kim (Seoul, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Karuizawa International, Kim take home 8.145 world rankings points along with the $5,820CDN prize, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 22nd place overall with 60.285 total points.
