Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) won 5-2 over Se Hyeon Seong (Uiseong, KOR) in the Final of the Karuizawa International, held December 18 - 21, 2014 in Karuizawa, Japan.
Koe finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated Suguru Tsukamoto (Kanagawa, JPN) 9-0, then won 10-2 against Hiromitsu Fujinaka (Okayama, JPN) and 13-0 against Seong. Koe won 8-2 against Tamotsu Matsumura (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Karuizawa International Championship title, Koe earned 6.000 world rankings points along with the $9,701CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 4th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 259.375 total points. Koe ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 118.050 points earned so far this season.
