Sweeting finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sweeting defeated Courtney Rossing (Grande Prairie, AB) 7-5, then won 5-2 against Michelle Englot (Regina, SK). Sweeting went on to lose 6-5 against Tirinzoni. Sweeting lost 5-4 to Heather Nedohin (Edmonton, AB) where Sweeting responded with a 8-3 win over Deanne Nichol (Peace River, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Sweeting earned 11.550 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown. Sweeting gained 5.55 points improving upon their best events, though dropped 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 11thplace overall with 216.295 total points. Sweeting ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 149.390 points earned so far this season.
