Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) won 4-3 over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) in the Final of the Players' Championship, held April 15 - 20, 2014 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. To advance to the championship game, Martin won 6-5 over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2014 Players' Championship in Summerside, Prince Edward Island; and won 6-4 over John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2014 Players' Championship in Summerside, Prince Edward Island;
Martin finished 3-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Martin defeated Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) 6-4, then went on to lose 6-4 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Martin lost 7-3 to Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) where Martin responded with a 5-3 win over David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO). Martin won 5-3 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Players' Championship Championship title, Martin earned 45.000 world rankings points along with the $23,500CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 8th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 30 after improving upon their best so far this season. Martin ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 200.250 points earned so far this season.
