Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, MB) won 6-2 over Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Point Optical Curling Classic, held September 27 - 30, 2013 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Stoughton won 7-3 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2013 Point Optical Curling Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 8-2 over Matthew Blandford (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2013 Point Optical Curling Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada;
Stoughton finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stoughton defeated Shawn Joyce (Saskatoon, SK) 4-3, then won 7-1 against Brady Clark (Lynnwood, WA) and 6-3 against Mark Kean (Toronto, ON). Stoughton won 10-3 against Martin in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Point Optical Curling Classic Championship title, Stoughton earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 1st place overall with 308.350 total points. Stoughton ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 65.000 points earned so far this season.
