Smith finished 8-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Dongxu Jiang (Harbin, CHN) 7-6, then won 9-3 against Andre Neuenschwander (Zurich, SUI) and 7-6 against Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, CAN). Smith won 7-5 against Amos Mosaner (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA), then won 9-3 against Eirik Mjoen (Oslo, NOR). Smith went on to lose 5-4 against Arkhipov. Smith responded with a 6-5 win over Gustav Eskilsson (Malung, SWE). Smith won 5-4 against Marek Cernovsky (Praha, CZE), then won 8-3 against Korey Dropkin (Wayland, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
. For week 30 of the event schedule, Smith did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Smith ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
