Jeff Currie (Thunder Bay, ON) qualified for the 2012 Courtesy Freight Northern Ontario Superspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN). of the 2012 Courtesy Freight Northern Ontario Superspiel in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada;

Currie finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Currie defeated Kurtis Byrd (Thunder Bay, ON) 8-1, then won 7-1 against Manitoba's Kyle Foster and 5-2 against Al Hackner (Thunder Bay, NONT). Currie won 6-3 against Evan Jensen (St. Paul, MN), then won 6-3 against Wisconsin's Ryan Lemke in their final qualifying round match.

Currie earned 1.125 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Courtesy Freight Northern Ontario Superspiel.
