In their opening game, Currie defeated Kurtis Byrd (Thunder Bay, ON) 8-1, then won 7-1 against Manitoba's Kyle Foster and 5-2 against Al Hackner (Thunder Bay, NONT). Currie won 6-3 against Evan Jensen (St. Paul, MN), then won 6-3 against Wisconsin's Ryan Lemke in their final qualifying round match.
Currie earned 1.125 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Courtesy Freight Northern Ontario Superspiel. For week 13 of the event schedule, Currie did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 139th to 146th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 6.432 total points. Currie ranks 152nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.750 points earned so far this season.
