Renee Sonnenberg (Edmonton, AB) won 10-6 over Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB) in the Final of the Boundary Ford Curling Classic, held November 30 - December 3, 2012 at the Lloydminster Curling Club in Lloydminster, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Sonnenberg won 6-5 over Kelly Schaefer (Swift Current , SK) in the semifinals of the 2012 Boundary Ford Curling Classic in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada; and won 8-4 over Amber Holland (Regina, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Boundary Ford Curling Classic in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada;
Sonnenberg finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sonnenberg defeated Nola Zingel (Lloydminster, AB) 11-6, then won 8-2 against Leslie Rogers (Edmonton, AB) and 9-7 against Holland. Sonnenberg went on to lose 8-6 against Cheryl Bernard (Calgary, AB). Sonnenberg responded with a 9-2 win over Tanilla Doyle (Calgary, AB). Sonnenberg won 6-5 against Tiffany Game (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Boundary Ford Curling Classic Championship title, Sonnenberg earned 17.350 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 16th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 134.920 total points. Sonnenberg ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 66.350 points earned so far this season.
