In their opening game, Stoughton defeated Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) 6-3, then won 8-3 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) and 6-4 against Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB). Stoughton went on to lose 5-3 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB). Stoughton responded with a 7-4 win over Bruce Korte (Saskatoon, SK). Stoughton won 6-4 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Stoughton earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Point Optical Curling Classic, remaining in 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 159.437 total points. Stoughton ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 38.350 points earned so far this season.
