To advance to the championship game, Epping won 5-3 over William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2012 Point Optical Curling Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 7-5 over Jeff Stoughton (winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Point Optical Curling Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada;
 
Epping finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Epping defeated Switzerland's Pascal Hess 6-4, then went on to lose 5-3 against Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB). Epping responded with a 8-3 win over Brock Virtue (Regina, SK). Epping won 8-5 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). Epping went on to lose 5-4 against Koe. Epping responded with a 5-4 win over Rob Fowler (Brandon, MB). Epping won 5-3 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Point Optical Curling Classic Championship title, Epping earned 35.000 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 4th place overall with 223.640 total points. Epping ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 67.690 points earned so far this season.
