Stoughton finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stoughton defeated Tyler George (Duluth, MN, USA) 6-2, then went on to lose 6-1 against Martin Ferland (Trois-Rivieres, PQ). Stoughton responded with a 7-2 win over Craig Brown (Madison, WI, USA). Stoughton won 6-2 against Mike Anderson (Markham, ON), then won 4-3 against Newfoundland / Labrador's Brad Gushue in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the StuSells Toronto Tankard Championship title, Stoughton earned 35.000 world rankings points along with the $15,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 194.437 total points. Stoughton ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 73.350 points earned so far this season.
