In their opening game, Edin defeated Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) 4-3, then won 6-5 against Mark Kean (Toronto, ON) and 8-2 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Edin won 8-2 against John Epping (Toronto, ON). Edin went on to lose 8-3 against McEwen in their final qualifying round match.
