Kaufman finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kaufman lost 7-6 to British Columbia's Jerri Pat Armstrong-Smith, then responded with a 9-0 win over Michelle Corbeil (Lloydminster, AB). Kaufman won 8-5 against Alberta's Arlene Keck, then won 7-5 against Crystal Webster (Calgary, AB) and 6-4 against Lisa Johnson (Edmonton, AB). Kaufman won 7-4 against Makichuk in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic Championship title, Kaufman earned 19.840 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 29th place overall with 47.353 total points.
