Geall won 9-3 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC). Geall went on to lose 6-1 against Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB). Geall responded with a 5-4 win over Tyrel Griffith (Vernon, BC). Geall went on to lose 6-4 against Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Geall earned 2.870 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
