Homan into PointsBet Final 4

Ottawa's Rachel Homan (photo: Michael Burns, Curling Canada) won 8-4 over Corryn Brown of Kamloops on Friday.

Homan, with the whole team in the building at Winsport in Calgary this weekend, including coach Brendan Bottcher and alternate Rachel Brown.

Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes joined Homan on the ice, opening with hammer and a blank end to settle into the game.

Homan changed approach in the second end, using their hammer advantage to score two points for the early lead.

Brown, with Erin Pincott, Sarah Koltun and Sarah Fisher in support scored two back in the third end to even the score.

In the fourth end, Homan pushed the pace, scoring two points, then after holding Brown to a blank in the fifth end, Homan stole a point to lead 5-2 after six ends.

Brown scored singles in the seventh and ninth ends, but it was not enough as Homan added two more points in the 10th end for the 8-4 win.

Miskew and Fleury dominated the middle of Brown's lineup, shooting 80 and 88%, respectively, to Koltun's 65% and Pincott at 68%.

Homan line up against World #12-ranked Kaitlyn Lawes in Saturday's Final 4.
