![]() Selena Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) wins the inaugural Saville Grand Prix, defeating Delaney Strouse (Traverse City, MI) 6-5 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. Sturmay with Danielle Schmiemann at third, Dezaray Hawes and Paige Papley on the front end take home the $4,000 first place cheque along with 33.750 world ranking points, while Strouse receives $2,500CDN and 24.750 world ranking points for their second place finish. Strouse opened the scoring stealing 1 in the first end, then forced Sturmay to a single in the second end. Strouse scored 2 in the third end, then added a steal in the fourth end. Sturmay scored 2 in the fifth end to trail 4-3, then held Strouse to a single in the sixth end. Sturmay scored 2 in the seventh end to tie the game at 5, then stole one in the extra end for the 6-5 win. In the semifinals, Sturmay defeated Jessie Hunkin of Spruce Grove, 7-3 and Strouse defeated Gray-Withers of Edmonton 7-6 in an extra end. Gray-Withers and Hunkin earned $1,750CDN and 19.125 ranking points for their semifinal finishes. In the quarterfinals, Hunkin defeated Vancouver's Clancy Grandy 5-2, while Sturmay defeated Sayaka Yoshimura of Sapporo, Japan, 7-3. Strouse defeated Winnipeg's Kate Cameron 5-2, and Gray-Withers defeated Edmonton's Abby Marks 4-3.
