The Kamloops RCMP have been put on notice as thievery by one particular set of East Coast offenders has rocked several top-ranking Canadian women's teams. Black and her team of Jenn Baxter, Karlee Everist and Shelley Barker have won three straight games by steal in last (vs. St-Georges on Thursday evening to force tiebreakers) and extra ends, this morning against Kaitlyn Lawes and now Rachel Homan. Black, in her fifth appearance at the Scotties and the second time as skip, has had a tremendous season, dominating the Atlantic Tour, with their relentless aggression without hammer a catalyst to their success. 41-10 record on the season, posting a 35% steal efficiency, coming in third highest among the Top 25 ranked teams in the World. Their steal attack continues to be on notice in the highly competitive Scotties field, as Black's steal efficiency of 30% sits second to Jennifer Jones at an extraordinary 39%. Black advances to tonight's qualifier for a spot into the Page 1v2 game, where black will take on McCarville, winners of Scotties Pool B with a 7-1 record. The losing team will play in Saturday afternoon's Page 3v4 game. McCarville knocked out Black in last year's crossover 2v3 game, with McCarville going on to reach the Final.
