Winnipeg's Jennifer Jones picked up her fourth win of the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Tuesday morning with a rather close 10-8 victory against Kerry Galusha and Team Northwest Territories (NWT). Tuesday's draw ten marked an important matchup between the two rinks, with Jones (Team Manitoba) and Galusha entering the game in a tie for second place in Pool B.

It was Team Manitoba- with third Karlee Burgess, second Mackenzie Zacharias, and lead Lauren Lenentine- who started on the offensive, with Jones and Co. picking up a score of three in the first end. Team Galusha responded in the second end with two points.

With hammer and a one-point lead in hand, Team Jones would blow things wide open in the third end with an impressive score of five to lead 8-2. Team NWT wasn't prepared to throw in the towel just yet, with the rink from Yellowknife scoring another deuce in the fourth. Galusha's squad would further cut into Jones' lead in the fifth end with a steal of one heading into the break.

Coming back in the sixth, it was another steal of one for Galusha, with Team NWT now trailing by just two points. Jones would finally return to the scoring column in seven with a single point to lead 9-6.

After forcing Team NWT to one in the eighth end, Manitoba would opt to give Galusha a steal of one in the ninth, ensuring Jones would have hammer with a one-point lead coming home in the tenth.

In the final end of play, Jones would be forced to make a hit to score one on her last shot, securing Team Manitoba a two-point victory. With the win, Jones now improves to 4-1, as the team has won their last four consecutive games after dropping their opening contest to Krista McCarville (Northern Ontario) on Saturday afternoon.

The victory also means that Jones now moves into a tie for first place alongside McCarville and Team Northern Ontario. Should the two teams remain tied by the end of the week, it would be McCarville's rink earning a bye into the second round of the playoffs, while Jones would be forced to contest a first-round elimination draw against the third-ranked team from Pool A.

While the playoffs are starting to come into focus at this year's Scotties, Team Jones still has three draws left before the round-robin comes to a close. The rink has a quick turnaround ahead of their next game on Tuesday afternoon against Team Yukon (Birnie) in Draw 11.

Other results from Tuesday morning's draw saw Kaitlyn Lawes and Team Wild Card #1 defeat Saskatchewan's Robyn Silvernagle 8-3, while Clancy Grandy and the home-province Team British Columbia got by Brigitte MacPhail's Nunavut squad by a score of 12-4, both of which were Pool A contests. Meanwhile, in the other Pool B matchup, New Brunswick's Andrea Kelly defeated Casey Scheidegger and Wild Card #3 7-6.

The 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts continues Tuesday afternoon at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, with Draw 11 set to get underway at 1:30 PM PT.

Fans in Canada can watch the entire Scotties Tournament of Hearts on TSN, with replays set to be uploaded to Curling Canada's new streaming service Curling Canada Plus. Meanwhile, fans in the USA will be unable to watch this year's Season of Champions on ESPN 3, as was the case in past years. For 2023, American fans will have to rely on Curling Canada Plus replays.
