![]() South Korea's Seungyoun Ha (Picture: Korean Curling Federation) leads the way heading into this weekend's S3 Group Curling Stadium Series event, hosted by Sasktel Curling Stadium Swift Current. By: Dylan Chenier This weekend, 16 of the best women's curling teams will take to the ice at the Swift Current Curling Club for the 2022 S3 Group Curling Stadium Series: Swift Current event. The tournament promises to be an exciting one, pitting some recognizable Canadian rinks against a field of tough international opponents. Leading the way heading into this weekend's event is South Korea's Seungyoun Ha, whose team arrives in Swift Current as the fourth-best rink in the world according to the WCF year-to-date team rankings. Ha's squad won in their most recent event this season, taking home the crown at the 2022 CURVE US Open of Curling late last month. Team Ha will get things started on Friday morning against the home-province rink of Ashley Howard. Team Howard enters this weekend's event in search of their first title of the season, with their best result so far being a tenth-place finish at the Curling Stadium Martinsville International in early September. Select draws from Swift Current will be featured on CBC Sports, starting with Friday morning's contest between Ha and Howard. Another rink worth keeping an eye on this weekend is Regina's Lorraine Schnieder, who just two weeks ago won the opening event of the 2022 Saskatchewan Women's Curling Tour. Team Scheider will kick things off on Friday morning against Japan's Sayaka Yoshimura, marking the first-ever meeting between the two rinks. Other notable names competing this weekend in Swift Current include Saskatchewan's Sherry Anderson Italy's Stefania Constantini, and Winnipeg's Kristy Watling, This weekend's S3 Group Curling Stadium Series event is hosted by Sasktel Curling Stadium Swift Current. The women's tournament officially gets underway on Friday morning at 9:00 AM MT, with a full slate of five draws on the schedule.
