On Saturday, Perez/Cohen took the first two matches against Estefana Quintero and Ismael Abreu, 8-3 and then 8-4, running their opponents out of rocks in the 8th in both games. In the third match this Sunday morning, Quintero/Abreu were four down with hammer coming home in the 8th. They capitalized on mistakes made by their opponents to make an impressive comeback to score four and tie the game. In the extra end, Perez/Cohen took one with hammer to seal the series in their favour. Perez/Cohen will represent Mexico in mixed doubles during the upcoming 2022-2023 curling season. The competition was hosted by the Mexican Curling Federation at the Vancouver Curling Club in Vancouver, Canada. Team Perez/ Cohen told CurlingZone, "We are thankful to all the people that made this first Mexican National Championship a successful event. We are excited to get the opportunity to represent Mexico in Mixed Doubles at the World level in the 2022-2023 season." Team Quintero/ Abreu seconded the sentiment stating, "We are really thankful to everyone that helped make this playdown possible. We are looking forward to all the great things Mexico can bring to this amazing sport. We wish all the best luck to the winning team and good curling!"
