We have been training hard with our coach Brian Cole and looking forward to having a great competition.* Angelica Perez-Anzures and Ramy Cohen were poised to represent Mexico in the MD World Qualification Event in 2021 Angus, Scotland, which was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns last year. "We are excited to participate in the first Mexican curling competition, " said Perez-Cohen in a statement. "We want to thank our coach Robbie Gallaugher for helping us improve as a team. We also want to thank the Vancouver Curling Club for their help in organizing the event. We hope to play well as a team and be good representatives of Mexican curling." The four players previously competed in 2019 as teammates on the national Mexican women's and men's teams, respectively. Both women, Quintero and Perez-Anzures, started playing over three years ago, while both men, Abreu and Cohen, have been playing for approximately six years. Ramy Cohen also competed with Adriana Camarena on the first Mexican national team that made its debut at the 2019 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Stavanger, Norway. Team Quintero-Abreu is coached by Brian Cole, while Team Perez-Cohen is coached by Robbie Gallaugher, prior coach of the Mexican women's team. Good curling to the teams competing!
