By: Dylan Chenier Kevin Koe's campaign at the 2022 Alberta men's curling championship is going exactly according to plan for the 46-year-old skip. Through four draws, Koe has enjoyed an unblemished record in Grande Praire. His rink is now just one win away from taking home the coveted provincial title. Team Koe booked their spot in Sunday's championship final after defeating Jeremy Harty 10-3 on Saturday morning in the 1 vs 2, page-playoff game at Revolution Place. Saturday's draw got underway with Team Koe scoring two in the first end after starting with the hammer. After Harty was forced to settle for one in the second, Koe would open up an impressive 6-1 lead by scoring four in the third end. Team Harty would put up their first deuce of the game in four, cutting into Koe's lead 6-3. Team Koe would then go on to score another two points in the fifth end, leading by five points heading into the break. Coming back in the sixth end, Team Koe would secure their first stolen end of the game, putting up two more on the board. Recognizing the unlikelihood of a comeback, Team Harty would concede in the seventh end, handing Koe an impressive 10-3 win. The victory secures Koe a spot in Sunday's championship final, where the skip will seek his seventh Alberta men's title. Koe will await the winner of Saturday night's semi-final, which will see Team Harty take on either Ted Appelman or Karsten Sturmay. At the time of publication, Sturmay and Appelman were competing in the 3 vs 4 playoff game. The semi-finals at the Boston Pizza Cup are set for Saturday at 8:00 PM MT, with Sunday's championship final scheduled for 4:30 PM MT. Both games will be broadcast live on Sportsnet.
