Jeremy Harty wins McKee Homes Fall Curling Classic
![]() Jeremy Harty (Calgary, Alberta) wins the McKee Homes Fall Curling Classic, defeating Terry Meek (Calgary, Alberta) 5-1 at the Airdrie Curling Club in Airdrie, Canada. Harty with Kyler Kleibrink at third, Joel Berger and Kurtis Goller on the front end take home the $3,400CDN first place cheque along with 18.161 world ranking points, while Meek receives $2,600CDN and 13.318 world ranking points for their second place finish. Starting with hammer, Meek blanked the first end, then got on the board scoring 1 in the second end. Harty scored a single in the third end. then added single point steals in the fourth and fifth ends before stealing 2 more in the sixth end en-route to a 5-1 win. In the semifinals, Harty defeated Chad Dahlseide (Calgary, Alberta) 7-5 and Meek defeated Danny Sherrard (Edmonton, Alberta) 6-3. Sherrard and Dahlseide earned $1,800CDN and 10.291 ranking points for their semifinal finishes. In the quarterfinals, Harty defeated Warren Cross (Edmonton, Alberta) 8-1, Meek defeated Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, Alberta) 7-6, while Sherrard defeated Cole Adams (Calgary, Alberta) 9-2 and Dahlseide defeated Thomas Usselman (Rocky Mountain House, Alberta) 7-6. Usselman, Sluchinski, Adams and Cross earned $1,200CDN along with 7.264 ranking points for their quarterfinal finishes. Harty went 3-0 in the 18 team triple knockout qualifying round. In their opening game, Harty defeated Desmond Young (Edmonton, Alberta) 10-1, won against Dan Bubola (Calgary, AB) 8-7, and then won against Scott Garnett (Calgary, Alberta) 6-0 in the A-Qualifier to advance to the playoff round. |
