![]() Jennifer Clark-Rouire (Winnipeg, Manitoba) wins the Manitoba Curling Tour Classic, defeating Deb McCreanor (Winnipeg, Manitoba) 6-5 in an extra end at the Thistle Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Clark-Rouire with Lisa McLeod at third, Jolene Callum and Sydney Arnal on the front end take home the $1,800CDN first place cheque along with 16.304 world ranking points, while McCreanor receives $1,200CDN and 11.956 world ranking points for their second place finish. Starting with hammer, McCreanor scored 1 in the first end. After a blank end, Clark-Rouire scored a single the third end, then forced McCreanor to a single in the fourth end. Clark-Rouire scored a single in the fifth end to tie the game, then forced McCreanor to a single in the sixth end. Clark-Rouire broke the game open scoring 3 in the seventh end, after McCreanor responded in the eighth end scoring 2 to send the game into an extra end. With the last rock, Clark-Rouire scored a single in the ninth end for the 6-5 win. In the semifinals, Clark-Rouire defeated Abby Ackland (Winnipeg, Manitoba) 9-6 and McCreanor defeated Janelle Vachon (Stonewall, Manitoba) 6-3. Ackland and Vachon earned $900CDN and 9.239 ranking points for their semifinal finishes. Clark-Rouire went 3-1 in the round robin pools qualifying round. In their opening game, Clark-Rouire lost 5-4 to McCreanor, then responded with a 4-3 win over Colleen Kilgallen (Winnipeg, Manitoba). Clark-Rouire won against Joelle Brown (Winnipeg, Manitoba) 7-1, and against Vachon 5-0 in their final qualifying round game. |
