By Connor Simms, Serena Gray-Withers, with Catherine Clifford at third, Lindsey Burgess and Zoe Cinnamon on the front end, returns to familiar winning territory at the U25 NextGen Classic. They took on New Brunswick's Melodie Forsythe in the final. Gray-Withers started with the hammer due to their perfect round-robin record. The scoring started quickly for Gray-Withers with a draw to the 8-foot for four points. Forsythe was able to respond with their deuce in the second end, making a draw to touch the paint. An unfortunate result on Forsythe last in the third, left Serena with a nose triple for six points. It was handshakes after the fourth end, when Gray-Withers stole one more, grabbing the 11-2 victory. Gray-Withers finished 5-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. In their opening game, Gray-Withers defeated British Columbia's Kayla Wilson 11-2, then won 6-4 against Manitoba's Cassidy Dundas and 5-2 against Alberta's Keelie Duncan. Gray-Withers won 9-3 against New Brunswick's Melodie Forsythe, then won 8-1 against Alberta's Gracelyn Richards. In the semi-finals, Gray-Withers defeated Ontario's Emma Artichuk 6-5 in an extra end. This marks Gray-Withers' third consecutive win in this event, which has been held every four years since its inception. Gray-Withers holds a 23 wins and 4 loss record.
