![]() Chaska's Tabitha Peterson (photo: Joao Boente) defeated Scotland's Rebecca Morrison 5-2 in the final of the Euro Super Series in Stirling, Scotland. By Connor Simms, #30 World-Ranked Tabitha Peterson with Cory Thiesse at third, Tara Peterson and Taylor Anderson-Heide on the front end, is off to a hot start in the 2025-2026 season. After winning the USA curling Pan Continental Qualifiers a few weeks ago, Peterson headed to Scotland to kick off their tour season. After falling from the #13 World Ranked to #30 last season, Peterson will have to work their way back into the Tier 1 Grand Slam of Curling. They had a slow start to the Euro Super Series, suffering back-to-back losses to Italy's Stefania Constantini, 7-4, and Denmark's Madeline Dupont, 8-4. They bounced back with two wins against Traverse City's Delaney Strouse, 6-4, and Scotland's Callie Soutar, 5-1. In the semifinals, this set up a rematch against Dupont, which they responded to with a 6-3 win. This set up a match with Scotland's Olympic team, Rebecca Morrison, in the final. Morrison started with the hammer due to their better round robin record of 3-1. Morrison was forced to their single in the first end. Peterson grabbed their deuce in the second end. After a blank in the third, Morrison was forced to their single in the fourth. Blank ends in the fifth and sixth ends, Peterson broke the game open with three points in the seventh. Ultimately running Morrison out of stones in the eighth end to grab a 5-2 victory. On the men's side, Scotland's Bruce Mouat went a perfect 7-0, defeating China's Xiao Ming Xu 7-5 in the final. |
